The information we collect may vary depending on how you interact with the platform, the features you use, and the information you choose to provide.

  • Your full name, which identifies you on the platform.
  • Your email address, used as a unique account identifier.
  • Your school or institution, if provided during registration.
  • Your profile picture or avatar associated with your account.
  • Any additional profile details you choose to add voluntarily.

Usage Data

Technical Information

  • Your IP address, which indicates your network connection.
  • Your browser type and version used to access the platform.
  • Your device type and operating system.

Activity Information

  • Pages you visit and features you interact with on the platform.
  • The date and time of your visits and actions.
  • Your interactions with study materials and collaboration tools.

Additional Information You Provide

  • Documents, notes, or study materials that you upload to the platform.
  • Messages, comments, and other content shared during collaboration.
  • Feedback, support requests, or survey responses you submit.
  • Any other information you choose to provide while using the platform.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve the platform. This includes supporting essential functionality, enabling user interactions, and enhancing overall performance and reliability.

Core Uses

  • To provide and maintain essential platform functionality, including account access, content delivery, and feature availability.
  • To personalize your experience by displaying relevant study materials, content, and recommendations based on your activity and preferences.
  • To enable collaboration between users, including sharing resources, messaging, and participating in group activities.

Improvement & Analytics

  • To analyze how users interact with the platform, including which features are used most frequently and how users navigate through the system.
  • To improve platform performance by identifying technical issues, debugging errors, and optimizing speed, reliability, and responsiveness.
  • To enhance existing features and develop new functionality based on user behavior, feedback, and usage trends.
  • To monitor overall system usage and trends in order to better understand how the platform evolves over time.

3. Sharing & Disclosure

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Any sharing of information is limited, carefully controlled, and only carried out under specific circumstances as outlined below.

Your Rights Under ZDPA

Access your stored personal data: You can request a copy of all personal information we hold about you to review what we collect and store.

Request correction of inaccurate information: If any of your data is incorrect or incomplete, you can request that we update it to ensure accuracy.

Request deletion of your account and data: You may ask us to delete your account and all associated personal information, subject to legal and operational requirements.

Object to automated decision-making: If we use automated systems for decisions that affect you, you have the right to object or request human review.

Withdraw consent: If you have given consent for data processing, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting past processing based on prior consent.

Data portability: Where applicable, you can request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format to transfer to another service.

File a complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority if you believe your rights under ZDPA are not being respected.

Zimbabwe Data Protection Act (ZDPA)

The Zimbabwe Data Protection Act (commonly referred to as ZDPA or the Cyber and Data Protection Act) is a national law that governs how personal data must be collected, used, stored, and protected in Zimbabwe. It aims to build trust in digital services and protect the privacy of individuals (“data subjects”) when their information is processed by organisations (“data controllers” and “data processors”).

Main points of the ZDPA include:

Establishment of a Data Protection Authority: POTRAZ (Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe) is designated to oversee compliance and enforce

Lawful data processing: Organisations must only collect and use personal data for specific, lawful purposes and ensure it is accurate and necessary.

Rights of data subjects: Individuals have rights including access to their data, correction of inaccuracies, and protections against misuse.

Security and breach reporting: Data controllers must implement safeguards to protect personal information and notify the Authority of breaches.

Cross‑border transfer rules: Personal data being sent outside Zimbabwe must either go to countries with adequate protection or meet specific conditions.

Codes of conduct & whistleblowing: The Act allows for approved codes of conduct and protections for individuals who report non‑compliance.
